So I am deciding that I really want to write more on here.. I spend tons of time looking at other people's blogs but I feel like I dont really have much to say.. Looking back at the meme I did made me laugh because I didnt indicate that I had ever performed a solo when in reality.. there was a very traumatic experience with me playing the role of Ella Fitzgerald in the 5th grade that I must have blocked from my memory. It was one of those corny elementary school chorus plays.. the title was something about jazz music and I was supposed to run off stage.. do a quick change which involved me putting on a skirt and coming out singing a song. Well somehow the skirt got all tangled up.. I waddled out on stage and immediately started to sob.. I take the skirt off and everyone applauds.. and the sobs grow stronger.. My chorus teacher had to finish my lines because I couldnt control myself.. Everyone afterwards thought that it was supposed to happen.. Lets just say that was the end of my musical/acting career.I cannot even believe how fast this semester is going by. Only 2 more months until the end of classes and then finals start. And then I am a SENIOR in college? How did this happen? Why did high school seem to drag on FOREVER and college has gone by in the blink of an eye. We had a speaker last night that came to talk about the hookup culture on college campuses and boy was she accurate. It wasnt anything I was unaware of (ie. all boys think girls are crazy for wanting a relationship and all girls are fed up with boys who wont commit) but it was good to hear and she was quite humorous. The funniest thing to me was that she quoted a girl saying "At home in Virginia hooking up meant something totally different" I have been saying that for the last 2 years!! In high school hooking up to me and all of my friends meant you were full on doing it, then all of a sudden at my college above the Mason-Dixen Line.. hooking up took on a whole realm of different meanings and you then had to explain "hooking up how". Too much confusion. Also, all the young alumni she interviewed were confident in saying that once college is over.. traditional dating makes a comeback. We'll see about that one.. :)

So I started this blog way back in the summer to make me feel like less of a lurker but never ended up sticking to it. Seems to be a repeat pattern for me. Hmm.. Anyways, I should be writing a paper for my International Politics final tomorrow but I will get to that soon enough. I cannot believe how fast this semester has gone by. High school seemed to drag on forever and now college is going by all too fast. Finals are just the bane of my existence. This is majorly to blame on the fact that at my high school you could get exempt from your finals if you had a an A or C+ or better with less than 4 absences. Needless to say I never took a final. I still havent gotten the concept of packing a whole semester's worth of material into my head, but I'll keep working at it.On another note.. I have absolutely no idea what to get my family for Chrismakkuh (the holiday we so appropriately adopted from Seth Cohen). My little sister loves hippos, so thanks to HauteLook, I just ordered her this:
The one I got is a zip-up, originally $165 and I got it for $65. She is going to love it. This is the first thing I have ordered from HauteLook. I always check out their sales but have continued to be a bit skeptical. Has anyone ordered from there?I believe I have procrastinated long enough with this paper.. Happy holiday shopping to everyone!
So my best friend has been working at a summer camp in PA all summer and she finally got home last night. I am headed back up to school on Thursday so we are trying to pack as much fun as possible into the next few days. When I met her up in NYC earlier in the summer when she had a little break from camp we went to this great sushi buffet restaurant called Todai... ironic because it is in fact TO DIE FOR! I did a little internet investigating and found out that there is one in the mall a little north of me so we went up there and had the best lunch ever! I could potentially eat sushi everyday for the rest of my life. My mom thinks it is funny that my love of sushi didnt come until years after we lived in Japan.. but I was 6 years old at the time and definitely had no appreciation for rice wrapped in seaweed. From there we went to Ikea to get a few things and I could spend all day there. I like to plan out my future home and I think that maybe somewhere down the road Ikea should really consider just selling fully furnished houses. Then we went to see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Good movie.. I love all of the actresses.. especially Amber Tamblyn.. she is hysterical.
I am absolutely dreading the fact that I have to pack everything up once again and head back up to school. Love being there but I wish I could just snap my fingers and have everything packed up for me.. wouldnt that be great! On the upside.. I had all of my recent purchases shipped straight to school so I have some surprises waiting for me when I get there. Online shopping was probably the best thing to ever happen to us college students.. I can get mail and new clothes all in one.. and nothing makes me happier than that.
So much to do when I get back on campus.. rush is coming up!! Cant wait to be on the other side of recruitment.. and cant wait to get some new awesome girls!
Jeopardy is on and its the Teen Tournament! I love these episodes.. :)
While sitting in my cubicle at my internship this summer I some how came across these blogs and have been lurking around. Figured it was about time I started a blog of my own.. soo tada! Here I am! :) Watching the Olympics tonight.. waiting for Michael Phelps to try and go for medal #8! He is such a crazy athlete.. and I hear he eats a crazy 12,000 calories a day. Goodness! So attractive though.
