Freitagggg.

Happy Friday amigas, no amigos around these parts! This week flew by, but I am ready for a weekend for sure. Parental units are currently en route to Small Town, PA as my mom has her meetings and such. I am under strict orders to make sure my dad knows which diploma frame I want from the bookstore. Talk about torture. It is amazing to me how much they have really become more than parents these past few years. My mom and I were always close. She knows everything I have ever done. I literally cannot keep anything from her. One time BFF J and I were driving on the Marine Corps base near home and I got stopped for speeding. I was only issued a warning, so I decided that Mom and Dad probably didn't need to know. No more than half a second after walking in the house I had already spilled my guts. My Dad and I, however, were a complete other story. He was always a quiet, militant man who never showed much affection. He was never there for me emotionally growing up. But the best thing that ever happened to our relationship was me leaving for college. And over the past four years, he has truly become a friend to me. We spend time together just the two of us and my 16 year old self would have NEVER imagined that happening.

Just received the Calendar of Events for Commencement Weekend 2010. Frightening. Freshman hallmates and I decided we would all get together and pregame our 100 Nights Celebration next Friday. Epic. ***Side note... How many of you that are college grads purchased a college ring? I have one from high school but am not sure if I want a college one.***

Doing the unpacking I didn't do 2 weeks ago Cleaning my room before the parentals arrive while cranking the always amazing Lady Antebellum. Roomies and I were discussing last night whilst watching and drooling over John Mayer on Storytellers (except for the weird tunic  he was wearing) that there aren't many CDs today where EVERY track is one you want to listen to. I am a chronic song changer, so for me to listen to a CD in its entirety, it must be a cold day in hell. But Lady Antebellum does not disappoint. Buy it/download it/acquire it any way you must, but you won't be sorry. Unless of course you don't like country music, in which case I feel a little bad for you. ;) Kidding... I was a strong hater of country for many many years until one night I flipped to CMT and the music video for These Days by Rascal Flatts was on. My world was immediately changed.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Stay warm! IT IS SO WINDY HERE!!

Soaked.

SO MUCH RAIN! Ugh. I had class this morning from 9-12 and it was pouring alll morning. But on the bright side it is 52 degrees outside! So it could be worse and we could have had a serious snow storm. The rain has stopped for now, the sun is out, and I just opened all the blinds in my town house and my mood has INCREASED EXPONENTIALLY! I am a definite believe in seasonal depression. Rain and winter makes me sad.

Had a great first half week of classes and a really fun first weekend back. Roommate L's birthday was over break so we had a celebration for her on Saturday night. We went to the tapas restaurant in town and each polished off a bottle of wine. From there, we came back and had some friends over, and ended the night at the bar. We have a few fun weekends planned soon, including a trip to Annapolis! Our school is playing Navy in basketball, so I figure what a great opportunity for a fun trip. I absolutely love it there. The town is adorable, and there is a seafood place that I go to with my family every time we visit. Dad used his military connections and got us a room at the Navy Lodge. Hopefully we can befriend a few cute Navy boys. ;) The night before we go to Annapolis is our 100 Nights Celebration. Another reminder of my pending doom graduation. I know there will be lots of fun pictures of my freshman hall and fun memories but its just inching that much closer to college being over. AND HOW IS IT ALMOST FEBRUARY!!! UNREAL. My parents will be up Friday because my mom is on the Exec Board for my school's Parents' Board and they have to decide on the new members for the Spring. I'm excited to see them even though I just left home last weekend.

**Trying out Zumba tonight! I have heard good things about it and used to dance and cheer so I am thinking this will be fun. Any Zumba fans out there?

HAPPY MONDAY TO ALL! And just an update, FINALLY REACHED 50 FOLLOWERS! Giveaway to come in the next couple weeks.

Last First Day.

So I am pretty sure all of us second semester seniors have experienced today recently.. my last first day of my undergraduate education. Holy crap, how did this happen?!It was a good day, I like my classes and the fact that I only have class 9am-12pm. Last semester I had everything spread out so I had awkward time gaps. My Computer Graphics professor said we should all go see Avatar and that there will be a question about it on our first midterm. UGH! While I totally see the relevance in that this movie is all the CGI rage currently, I am not really looking forward to sitting through it. I hear the story line is lacking. And this kid in that class, WOULD NOT stop correcting the professor. I loathe kids like that. Maybe you know a lot but my parents are not paying my tuition for you to teach so kindly just sit and learn. My other CompSci class has no exams, which is fabulous.

*Just finished relocating all 1500 songs on my iTunes. WHAT A PAIN! I'm sure there was a faster way of fixing all that but I do not know of one.

In other news, I was completely remiss in thanking Ashley over at Pink-ture Perfect for this award! Ashley and I have been bonding over The Bachelor lately, and I have unfortunately fallen behind on a few episodes. I don't think I can get past Jake's cheese ball factor, but that's an entire other post. Thanks so much Ashley, you are the sweetest!

I am supposed to reveal 3 things that I would like to learn how to do, so here goes...

* I HAVE NEVER BEEN SKIING! (Sorry Ashley, had to steal yours.) I told my mom that I wanted to learn but she told me I was nonathletic and I don't like snow, and she is not wrong in this at all, but I really want to go outside my box and try something new.

*I am no good at cooking, at least I don't think I am, but then again I can count on one hand the number of times I have tried. I did burn the crap out of a pan last semester trying to make stir fry out of a bag and our town house wreaked of Teflon for a day or so after that. My mom says I can read so I should be able to cook and follow a recipe. I better learn soon, or my poor future husband will in for lots of take out dinners.

*While I wouldn't, LOVE to learn this, I need to learn how to drive stick. I don't want to do it on an everyday basis but just in case I am ever in a situation where there is only a manual car around, not that I can for the life of me think of any sort of situation, but you never know!

I think everyone, in real life and blog land, knows that I have an obsession with People (both the magazine and the website). Well let me just say, I am really sick of Jen*nifer Anisto*n. Girlfriend needs to GET OVER BRAD. The issue out this week is her on the cover with a big caption that says 5 YEARS SINCE BRAD. He left you Jen, and you need to stop talking about him and Angelina and making jokes about hanging out with them. She sounded so dumb when she said something along the lines of them all vacationing together. I feel like she probably isn't going around talking about her ex and his new life, but she should NOT RESPOND WHEN INTERVIEWERS ASK HER ABOUT HIM! We all know she's still single, it does not need to be brought up all the time. Does she not realize it makes her look whiny and sad? That's all I have to say about that.

*Happy Hump Day friends!

"All that still matters...

is love ever after, after the life we've been through. I know there's no life after you."
FABULOUS song by Daughtry called Life After You. If you don't have it yet, you must get it ASAP!

Hola amigas! Another weekend has come and gone and I am still at home. My Dell has been holding on for dear life and I have had to have to IT person look at it three times, but I think its in decent working order now and it just needs to make it until May, at which point I will be getting a Mac! (Anyone opposed? If so speak up, I am still a little nervous about this switch.) At this point I am having to go through all 1500 songs on my iTunes and 'relocate' them as something must have happened during the virus recovery process. This sounds easier than done but I for some odd reason have 3 different Music folders, so its a trial and error process to find out where the song is. UUGGHHHH!

*Had a very fun and eventful last weekend at home. I met a guy on Friday night and we then went on a walk around downtown Saturday, but again I am heading back to school. This is seeming to be a pattern for me, meeting nice guys right before I have to pick up and leave. But on the other hand, it was kind of a lost cause when I told him about New York and my job and such and he said he just wanted to pour drinks and that due to my plan "we had nothing in common", which is definitely not untrue. I have a plan and ambition and I need someone who has got direction in their life as well.

*The Golden Globes last night were great as usual. I think just about everyone I love was awarded, which is always exciting. I won't give you a rundown as I am sure most of you watched, but the one that I was so jazzed about was Kev*in B*acon winning for Best Actor in a TV Movie. He did a fabulous job in it T*aking Ch*ance and for me, it hit close to home as my dad was in the military. Also loved Sandra, Meryl, Drew, Mad Men, Glee, and THE HANGOVER! Who saw that one coming? Not this girl.

*Picked up a bag of BBQ popchips! at Target along with a couple other odds and ends. THEY ARE DELICIOUS! If you look at their website, the tagline is 'love. without the handles.' I got a good laugh out of that. They are made by heating and pressurizing a potato until it literally pops. I definitely recommend them!

*I am SO ready for this weather to warm up. Spring time at my school is the best because our campus is just gorgeous. When the snow melts and the leaves come back on the trees, the quad is swarming with students. The sundresses come back and we have Super Saturdays with the frat guys. I suppose day drinking is no longer appropriate after you leave college? I don't know if I intend to follow that rule.

*Happy MLK Jr. Day everyone! I was fortunate enough to visit his childhood home and the Memorial for him in Atlanta when I lived down there. One year we went to the parade and I was able to catch a quick glimpse of Coretta Scott King. What a fabulous man, and I am greatful everyday that he had a dream.

GaGa I LOVE YOU.

Say what you will about her because she is quite the eccentric, but she is also AMAZING! If you have not yet heard her song Speechless about her father, listen to it and it will change your opinion of her completely. She may have crazy hair and wild outfits but the truth of it is that she is one talented singer. I just watched her perform Monster/Bad Romance/Speechless on Oprah and I am myself SPEECHLESS!

Ran lots of errands today, and I feel SO accomplished. Had Starbucks with best friend J this morning, picked up and dropped off a prescription for my sister, got my car washed, stopped at Target for some Brita filters, 30 Day Shred for my mom (we now have THREE copies of this as I am at school in PA, Mom is home in VA, and Sister is at school in NC), and a few other odds and ends, mailed some packages out to relatives and now I am home. Going down to The Green Turtle tonight with a friend. It just opened up so we are going to see what the crowd is like. I also picked up THIS today...

I have not opened it yet as I am still watching the GaGa interview but my goodness, the girl looks an absolute fright! I do not understand her one bit.

I am glad to have received some comments today! I was getting worried that no one was reading but then I realized that it was because I had changed my blog address and it must not have been registering with people's readers or feeds or what have you. But I changed it back so I think we are good to go now!

One more thing, does anyone have any good products/home remedies/magic spells to help with the size of your pores? I feel like you can see mine from space. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Have a fabulous weekend, lovelies!

ETA: Just read the article and the girl needs help, quickly! She's a DDD and wants to go even bigger.
Hello friends! Today was a sort of nothing day. Unfortunately my nothing days are dwindling down as my LAST SEMESTER EVER starts next week. Have you all been watching Modern Family on ABC?! I just caught up on the season and it is absolutely hilarious! And the premiere of Project Runway was tonight on top of the Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice event. Needless to say, I watch much too much television!

How are we all doing with resolutions? I am slowly but surely trying to make exercise a part of my routine. I think it will be easier once I get back to school and I am on a schedule. I am going to sit down with my schedule and allot plenty of time for school work, gym, and exam studying. Stressful.. but I think it will all pay off in the end!

I saw Leap Year yesterday and although we ALL know from the previews what is going to happen, it was still so cute. Amy Adams is adorable and Matthew Goode is just so attractive and the Irish accent didnt hurt either! The only crummy part is what I like to refer to as the 'post romantic comedy funk'. I think we all know that feeling, but then again I remember that real life is not like the movies.

I have a bunch of errands and such to take care of tomorrow so until then, goodnight!

Monday Funday.

Good morning everyone! I made it back in one piece from my weekend in NYC. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FREEZING but I had a lot of fun. Makes me even more excited for the Fall when I will be living a train ride away. There is always something going on and something new to discover which is good for someone like me who always wants to do new things. I got up there at about 8pm Thursday night and after getting my bearings walking around like an ass for a few minutes I hopped in a cab and met my cousin and his friends for his belated birthday celebration. He is operating without a cell phone these days, so I figured it would be a trick to get a hold of him. I am not sure how he survives and I spent the better half of the weekend convincing him that he needed to go back to having one. Friday he went to work and I went to SoHo and had lunch at Balthazar with 2 friends from school M and K. Apparently their French fries are Bobby Flay's favorite. The decor was beautiful but I wasn't blown away by the food.

We walked around for a bit, stopped in at Forever21, and then headed back up near Grand Central so M could catch the train back home. We sat at a Starbucks for a bit and just chatted. Love those girls. Friday night, my cousin was at work pretty late so we went out for Mexican at about 8. He passed out pretty soon after dinner. Saturday we had planned to go to the MoMA, one of those things I wanted to check off my mental To-Do List and it definitely did not disappoint. I wish I hadn't left my camera in PA because we realized we dont have any pictures from our adventures over the summer either. We saw artwork by Monet, Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol, etc. There was a special exhibit on Tim Burton but we got there pretty late in the day so all the tickets had been given out. The man is a loon in my opinion but I bet the exhibit was amazing. I can't wait for this to come out in March!

I feel like Johnny Depp is going to be great in this role! I saw two of my friends from school that had graduated in 2008 at the MoMA as well. One of them I ran into outside Grand Central over the summer so it was ironic that I saw him again. My mom said maybe we are destined. I guess you never know! :)

My cousin and I couldnt help but laugh at the obscure and modern "artwork". For example, we walked in to one of the rooms and there was an empty shoe box. The description said something about filling the shoe box with whatever you wanted. Then, we turned the corner and there were four plastic yogurt lids tacked to the wall. Hmm.. I guess I don't have the artistic mind to think that those were anything other than trash. But nonetheless, I am very glad we went.

Saturday night we did a bit of a bar crawl. Everywhere was pretty packed as the Jets were playing. We were walking down the street and everything started to look familiar when I realized we were in Summer Boy #2's neighborhood. No chance encounters so that was good. After too many drinks, we headed home.
*I met a boy from Jersey, and thankfully he did not fist pump at me.

Sunday we got up and I felt like I had been hit by a truck. I think I get the worst hangovers of anyone I know and they tend to last all day. We went and got some breakfast and walked down to Columbia. We did this one night over the summer and got HUGE slices of pizza and the skies just opened up. I was thankful that we didnt get any sudden rainstorms this time. The campus is beautiful and it nice to get some air in an attempt to ease my hangover a bit. My bus left at 430 and my parents picked me up in DC around 9. Successful weekend trip!

Hope you all had great weekends, whatever you did! :)

OUCH.

Hello to whoever is still out there! And Happy Friday Eve! Just got done packing and am headed up to NYC to hang out with my cousin for the weekend. Hopefully I survive the arctic temperatures that are headed this way. I tried SO hard to get everything in one suitcase but I had to bring my Longchamp as well as a carry on. I am riding one of those DC to NY buses. This one has Wifi and extra leg room! So its not too bad.

I have been doing a whole body cleanse for the last 4 days. I picked it up at our local pharmacy and I dont know if its really doing anything? I have to take a bunch of tablets in the morning and night for 2 weeks so I suppose I will have to wait a little longer before I feel any cleaner inside? Haha. I did run/walk on the treadmill or A WHOLE HOUR last night and I can say that I have never done that in my life. I walked at an incline during the show, and ran during the commercials. I dont know why I hadnt thought of doing that before. And I suppose it was only fitting that I was watching Confessions of A Reality Show Loser while exercising.

I am sure that my fellow Reality TV junkies out there remember this guy.. He won Season 3 of The Big*gest Los*er and then gained almost all the weight back. The show last night documented his struggle with his self and his marriage. He blamed the show A LOT and I don't think that is fair. We all know that LIFE often gets in the way of our diet and exercise plan but he was given a huge gift in being on the show and is now sort of biting the hand that fed him. He went on Oprah in January of '09 and admitted that he had fallen of the wagon and this special was taped around Thanskgiving '09. What was he doing for the time in between other than complaining? I am in NO way saying that his situation isnt difficult but it seems like he could have been doing more to help himself before he filmed this in November. He admits that he was wrapped up in the fame of it all and once that faded away he stopped caring about his health. I would also assume that he's not the first winner to gain weight back. Hopefully he can realize that he has to make life changes for himself and his family and not for the media hype.

In other news I recently picked up these beauties...

Mine are a really pretty plum color and I love how the medallion is made of the same leather as the shoes. Let's hope I can stop at pair number 2? Wishful thinking! I told myself that I was not going to buy any new clothes until I can buy them in a smaller size and I fully intend to stick to that.

Hope everyone has an absolutely wonderful weekend! I still have a week and a half left of break and most of my friends from home will be gone after this weekend. Hmm.. what to do, what to do?

Sick Computer.

Hello all! Sorry for the absence my computer is sick. It literally talks to me and says "NEW VIRUS NEW VIRUS" whenever I turn it on. The IT specialist at my mom's elementary school has it now so hopefully it is on the mend. That threw a wrench in the plan of doing a "Pictures of my Ever Changing Body" post in light of my new weight loss task. That will be coming soon though. My followers keep going up and down. :( Stick with me you guys, I have resolved to blog more often but I have been without computer so I am checking my Reader on my iTouch. I dont have the patience to blog from it so once the computer is better things will get back to normal around here. I am still planning on doing a giveaway at 50 followers (only 4 more) so spread the word!

New Years was eventful.. both good and bad. 3 friends and I headed up to a lounge in DC. We checked into the hotel, had a nice dinner at in hotel restaurant, then got ready to go out. I guess only bad things can come of an open bar because I am no longer speaking to one of the girls. We have had a less than smooth friendship since high school graduation and I guess the alcohol brought up all these ill feelings towards me and a situation that happened last summer that apparently she is not over. She even shoved me. Needless to say, that friendship is no more.

I don't want to bore you with another post about goals and resolutions but I feel it is only necessary considering this new decade we have embarked on. So here goes nothing...

1.) Get healthier. I mentioned this before but this has got to be numero uno. I want to embark on the next chapter of my life feeling and looking great.I want to into a gym routine when I get back to school of going at least 3 days a week. I have a big graduation party planned in June and I dont want to be hiding from the camera and feeling self concious.

2.) Eat out less, and make better choices while eating out. My roommates and I are CONSTANTLY eating out. Not only would my waist line be smaller, but my bank account would also be bigger as I have looked at my account statements and it is mostly food places. No bueno.

3.) Pass my first ac*tuarial accreditation exam. I need to get this out of the way early in the year so I can focus on graduation, moving, and starting my new job. I just signed up for an online review seminar that is said to have great results so I hope I can put this behind me soon!

4.) Be a more selective friend. I don't mean this to sound spiteful but I have a habit of dragging friendships on. It seems like I am often times a better friend to some than they are to me and I need to focus my time and energy on those friendships that are positive.

5.) Do more for my family, be more appreciative. I sometimes take a lot of things that my parents have given me for granted. They know that I appreciate them but I could say it more and do more to show them how thankful I am for EVERYTHING.

6.) Meet someone to share my life with. That sounds like a tall order and I dont mean that I want to take the marriage plunge this year but I think that if everything else in my life is in order, I will be more than ready to bring something positive to a relationship. I by no means NEED someone to be with, but I definitely want it.

*Also, quick reader poll. I was listening to the radio this morning and the DJ was saying that if a woman has moved with a man twice, given up her career, and he has hinted at a marriage proposal that she should be paid damages after calling off the relationship. I COMPLETELY DISAGREE! I dont think you should give up your life, family, friends on just a verbal commitment. After the first move, there should have been a ring. And I'm sure it wasnt completely out of nowhere. Arent there usually signs? Then again, I have never been in this situation but I cant imagine giving everything up for a guy that wasnt totally sure he wanted to marry me. What do you girls think?
